ABOUT KIWANIS OF CENTRAL DUPAGE

PRESIDENT’S WELCOME:

A hearty greeting to you – we are pleased to introduce our Club to you.  Central DuPage Kiwanis has been in existence since the fall of 1990.

2015 marked our Club’s 25th anniversary and the 100th anniversary of Kiwanis International, debuting in 1914 in Detroit as a businessman’s club.  There have been a lot of changes in the 100 years, and the Kiwanis organization has managed to meet these challenges.  In today’s world, twenty five years is also a long time for a local club to be involved in service to the community.  A number of our original Charter members are still going strong and are routinely supplemented by the strengths of our newer members.

We meet each Wednesday noon for an excellent lunch at Barone’s Restaurant in Glen Ellyn. I am hoping that you will someday join us for lunch and decide that what we have to offer in terms of community presence, personal friendships and ongoing service projects will be of interest to you.

Looking forward to meeting you!

Best Regards,

Tim Clark, Club President

Our Mission

The six permanent Objects of Kiwanis International were approved by Kiwanis club delegates at the 1924 Kiwanis International Convention in Denver, Colorado. Through the decades, they have remained unchanged.

  • To give primacy to the human and spiritual rather than to the material values of life.

  • To encourage the daily living of the Golden Rule in all human relationships.

  • To promote the adoption and the application of higher social, business and professional standards. To develop, by precept and example, a more intelligent, aggressive and serviceable citizenship.

  • To provide, through Kiwanis clubs, a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render altruistic service and to build better communities.

  • To cooperate in creating and maintaining that sound public opinion and high idealism which make possible the increase of righteousness, justice, patriotism and goodwill.
